What we did in summer camp today. August 5, 2015

The country we visited was Puerto Rico.

Clownfish (Parent’s Morning Out)

Our art project was: coloring a parrot and a frog.

Other fun things we did were: played outside and read “Hands Are Not For Hitting,” and bunches of other books.

Our snack was: goldfish and pretzel goldfish with a cookie.

Doodlebugs

Our art/physical education project was: coloring frogs and playing on the playground.

Other fun things we did were: acted like frogs.

Our snack was: goldfish.

Something cool we learned was: tiny frogs live in Puerto Rico.

Monkeys

Our art/PE activity was: colored a picture of Dora the Explorer playing soccer.  We played ball outside and played on the playground.

Other fun things we did were: learned about Roberto Clemente who was a famous baseball player from Puerto Rico who died in a plane crash at the age of 38.  He was a heroic man who helped a lot of people, including children.  We also danced the conga and cha cha today.

Our snack was: popcorn, chocolate chip cookies, fresh peaches and water.

Something cool we learned was: In Puerto Rico they have a lot of hummingbirds.

Elementary

Our art activity was: making a carnival mask.

Other fun things we did were: We had a conga line party!

Our snack was: cookies and goldfish.

Something cool we learned was: Who Roberto Clemente was, a famous baseball player from Puerto Rico.  He was the first Latino to be post humously inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.  We also learned about the history behind the masks of their carnivals.
