What we did today in summer camp – July 22, 2015

The country we visited was Australia

Clownfish (Parent’s Morning Out)

Our art project was: making Koala bears with tissue paper and glue.

Other fun things we did were: sang songs, read books and went on the playground.

Our snack was: goldfish and pretzel goldfish with creme wafers.

Something cool we learned was: Koalas are bears!

Doodlebugs

Our art project was: coloring a kangaroo and playing outside on the playground.

Other fun things we did were: played a game of simon says with animals from Australia.

Our snack was: goldfish, pretzels and water.

Something cool we learned was: a cockatoo is a bird in Australia.

Monkey Business

Our art project was: decorating a wooden snake with markers.  Sorry Mom!

Other fun things we did were: played shark bite in the hallway (like duck, duck, goose) and had relay races with eggs and spoons.  We also read the book “Wombat Stew” and made our own stew.

Our snack was: popcorn, fig newtons, bananas and water.

Something cool we learned was: Coral is an animal, not a plant.  The Great Barrier Reef is in Australia.  They have really big crocodiles and the world’s most dangerous jellyfish hales from Australia.

Busy Bears

Our art/PE activity was: aboriginal bark painting

Other fun things we did were: played with boomerangs and then decorated our own.

Our snack was: veggie chips, lemon sandwich cookies, and water.
