What we did today in summer camp – July 7, 2015

The country we visited was Russia.

Clownfish (Parent’s Morning Out)

Our art project was: coloring a picture of a polar bear.

Other fun things we did were: read books and sang songs.

Our snack was: goldfish and butter cookies.

Something cool we learned is that polar bears are white and other bears are brown.

Doodlebugs

Our art project was: coloring a picture of Russian children.

Other fun things we did were: read books learned about Russian animals.

Our snack was: pretzels and animal crackers.

Something cool we learned is Russia is very cold!

Monkey Business

Our art/PE activity was: to draw pictures of our Grandparents and to make a star that people in Russia look for on Christmas night.

Other fun things we did were: played outside, sang the Bear Hunt song, read books.

Our snack was: popcorn.

Something cool we learned was: Their grandmother is called Babushka and they take care of the household.  They love soccer, ice skating, hockey and basketball.  Ballet is big in Russia as well.

Elementary

Our art/PE activity was: making abstract art with circles while listening to Tchaikovsky.

Other fun things we did were: games and playing, exercise and talked about how Kandinsky said colors were like feelings and the sound of music.

Our snack was: goldfish, cookies, raisins and water.

Something cool we learned was: that Kandinsky was famous for abstract art.
